Easy Oreo Pudding Mix Cookies

The Editor in Chief for our college newspaper would (very rarely) bring in chocolate pudding cookies, which he claimed he made from his own secret recipe. He never would share his recipe with me, but then again, there is something known as the internet. So it was pretty easy for me to find a pudding cookie recipe to use.

But when I brought in cookies to our meeting, they had to be different than his. They had to be something a little more unique. The solution--change up the flavor of pudding.

Try adding a cup of peanut butter to the mix for even more flavor!

I was doing a photography project on Oreos, so I needed as many Oreo products as possible. It was for the sake of my art that I just had to buy a package of Oreo pudding, and I just had to supplement it with a pack of mini Oreos.

Thus was born the Oreo pudding cookie. The recipe quickly became my favorite cookie, and as I have made them for friends and church events, many people have asked me for the recipe. I mean, they're made with Oreos, of course they're delicious! And using pudding as a base for your cookie makes them moist and very easy to make.

1 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 package Oreo pudding mix

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

crushed up mini Oreos

chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350

-Beat together butter and sugars.

-Stir in pudding mix, eggs, and vanilla.

-In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

-Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir until combined.

-Add in crushed Oreos and chocolate chips, as many as you prefer.

-Place cookies on a greased cookie sheet by rounded 1-inch balls.

-Bake for 10-12 minutes.

-Let cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, and then transfer to cooling rack.
